Campus & Community Recreation offers programs and facilities aimed to meet the needs and interests of the broad range of communities that we serve. Campus & Community Recreation is the host of a multitude of sport, recreation and leisure programs and activities, as well as fitness and wellness services and events. Campus & Community Recreation has the breadth and depth of activities to enhance the experiences of students, staff and community members.

The role of Campus & Community Recreation is to contribute to the overall academic vision of the university. **Position**

The Program Supervisor, Fitness, Leisure and Wellness position within Campus & Community Recreation (CCR) oversees a large breadth of programming that focuses on the integration of health promotion through fitness and wellness programs and activities. The supervisor will be responsible for developing wellness-focused initiatives across campus as well as supporting the Fitness Leisure and Wellness Programming areas as a whole. This position will also have some roles and responsibilities that support the fitness centre facility operations and fitness services on both the North and South campuses.

Reporting to the area Team Lead, the supervisor is responsible for supporting, enhancing and implementing goals and objectives within a defined Wellness strategy to support the wellness pillars in the University of Alberta community. The supervisor will develop wellness-focused initiatives across campus in coordination with student, staff and community stakeholders. This position will support the creation of strong connections with internal and external University partners to help integrate wellness initiatives for the University of Alberta along with existing standards of practice. While the primary focus will be on increased physical activity and reduced sedentary behavior, the supervisor will also create further opportunities to support students, staff and community members in the Social, Emotional, and Environmental pillars of wellness.

This position will help lead events, activities and promotional programming that increase awareness and participation in areas of wellness, but also collaborate with other CCR areas in the areas of sport, recreation, leisure and fitness.

**Duties**

Program Planning & Administration
- Responsible for the implementation and day-to-day operations of events, programs and services that increase awareness and participation in the area of fitness, leisure and wellness for students, staff and community members.
- Oversees program design, implementation and provides leadership and supervision on-site at activities and events on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for preparing annual budgets, and monitoring and adhering to the operating budget assigned to the program area.
- Responsible for conducting regular evaluation and assessment of program, events and service effectiveness using best practices and common assessment methods.
- Assist in the development of goals and measurable objectives for wellness initiatives focused on but not limited to increased physical activity and reduced sedentary behavior and support the social, emotional and environmental pillars of wellness.
