**Salary**: $2,757.39 to $3,604.17 bi-weekly ($71,965 to $94,068 / year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
This role helps the department consider current and longer term impacts that inform decision making and demonstrate progress towards reaching the department’s longer term goals and strategic priorities.
- Overseeing business planning and preparing reports, measuring performance, and evaluating compliance with legislation, regulations, and policies for both the branch and ministry.
- Qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and data analysis
- Cultivating collaborative, positive, and productive relationships with key stakeholders within the ministry and across the government.
- Offering advice and strategic support to Senior and Executive Management regarding departmental deliverables as required.
- Representing the interests and perspectives of the branch and division within departmental, cross-ministry, and external stakeholder committees.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across various demographics.
- Managing business deliverables amidst changing timelines, demonstrating adaptability, prioritization skills, and effective team coordination.

**About Your Work Environment**: In this role, you will primarily be working in an office setting. You will have regular, on-going contact with Alberta Forestry and Parks’ area staff, other ministries and external stakeholder groups.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in political sciences; business; natural, social or environmental sciences plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience.

**Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year education.

Assets:

- Possession of an Evaluator designation is advantage.
- Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Project management (e.g., leading projects).
- Experience working in a corporate branch setting exercising political acumen.
- Proficiency in corporate planning development, government structure, operations, and decision-making processes is strong.
- Demonstrates a robust understanding of the intricate priorities involved in complex, multi-stakeholder policy and program development within the ministry.
- Has a working knowledge of both the Department's priorities and project management methods.

**Notes**:
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity located in Edmonton and will work out of the J G O' Donoghue Building, 7000 - 113 Street. This position works Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM, 36.25 hours a week.
