Shawnigan Lake, Canada Heavy Metal Marine Ltd. Full time

Heavy Metal Marine Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as Project Coordinator in Malahat, BC. This regular, full-time position is scheduled Monday to Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm. There is potential for career advancement as our company continues to grow.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is a member of the project management team who supports Estimators, Project Managers and Superintendents by completing administrative tasks, assisting with technical and financial tracking, completing project communication under the oversight of the Project Manager, developing quality control requirements, and completing many tasks which contribute to the successful completion of the project.

Responsibilities of this role include:

- Manage the day-to-day administrative and technical requirements of the project including daily reports, RFIs, shop drawings, changes, and daily force account billing
- Assists with project administration of reporting, job cost tracking and progress invoicing.
- Assisting in change management, submittals, tracking, and request for information communication
- Completion of quantity take-offs and purchase requisitions.
- Assists in the preparation of purchase orders, subcontracts and generation of change orders
- Maintains project document control/management, including saving, posting and uploading files to the server and cloud
- Performs basic engineering calculations and assists in interpretations of drawings and specifications for field crews
- Performs other duties as required

- Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, and carry out the duties of the position with independence
- Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines
- Strong and concise verbal, written, and organizational skills
- Skilled in preparing documents and reports
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts to understand drawings, quantities, etc.
- Positive attitude and commitment to team, project, and company success.

Qualifications:

- Minimum High School Diploma
- Minimum 1 year Construction experience
- Proficiency with construction drawings, MS Office Applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and Project) and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with Heavy Bid software considered an asset
- Located in Langford, Victoria or Cowichan Valley, BC.
