**About the Role**:
Under broad supervision of the President, the Process Manager oversees all plant design, engineering and mechanical maintenance of production and facility equipment, as well as partners with mechanical, maintenance and fabrication personnel. The Process manager is also charged with optimizing the operation of the process and packaging equipment and functions in the plant, with the main responsibilities being as follows:

- Working with the President and Director of Production on any specific equipment and facility improvement projects including making routine day-to-day suggestions for improving any plant processes
- Working in partnership with the Chief Mechanic and the Maintenance team on flawless line start-up and daily production
- Working in partnership with the Chief Mechanic to provide expertise and support in the Production Line setup, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve production inefficiencies, breakdowns, failures, etc., to ensure good line productivity and product quality
- Working with the Chief Mechanic, President, and Health & Safety Manager, to ensure safety and ergonomics in process design, and machinery installations
- Preparing and planning units operating and capital budget, and forecast unit expenditures
- Responsible for, and taking lead on, capital projects through proposals, project planning, and commissioning
- Scheduling required major equipment purchases, remodeling, and special projects, as assigned
- Purchasing equipment and supplies as required
- Responsible for creating new product routings in ERP system
- Implementing Lean methodology including Six Sigma, Kanban, 5S, etc.
- Learning, following, and complying with all company safe work procedures, safe operating procedures and Health and Safety policies, and all food safety policies and procedures
- Complying with OHS Regulation, _Workers Compensation Act_ and Environment Canada; CFIA and FDA food safety regulations, SQF and other certification specific requirements
- Reporting any unsafe conditions to Health & Safety Manager immediately
- Participating and making recommendations in correcting unsafe conditions and the overall Health and Safety program
- Reporting any injury to the First Aid representative immediately and the Health & Safety Manager
- Identifying opportunities and developing process improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity, initiate and lead operational continuous improvement projects and driving same to completion
- Using available tools such as SafetyChain as a data source and using data analytics/Power BI to convert data for problem identification of areas requiring improvement, and presenting solutions to such identified problems
- Use data and analytics in troubleshooting and resource management
- Managing mechanical/maintenance team on various projects
- Monitoring staff to ensure they follow established safety and infection control policies and procedures
- Supervising projects to ensure completion according to plans and budgetary restrictions
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining written maintenance policies and procedures
- Performing an annual facility assessment to identify improvements and repairs
- Taking part in vendor and consultant selection and managing the work of consultants as well as reviewing contractor invoices
- Ensuring the performance, condition, and reliability of all plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation of all equipment
