**Salary**: $2,626.89 to $3,448.73/bi-weekly ($68,561 - $90,011/year)

Advanced Education supports Albertans by providing the education and training opportunities they need to prepare for the workforce. This is accomplished by: approving programs of study; funding public post-secondary institutions and other adult learning providers; providing financial aid for learners; registering and certifying apprentices; and, supporting academic research and innovation. This position resides within the Program Integration and Coordination branch of the Skilled Trades and Professions division within Advanced Education.

Programs and services are driven by 3 outcomes: (1) Adult learning opportunities are accessible and affordable for all Albertans; (2) High-quality education, skills development and research make a positive contribution to Alberta’s economy, society, culture and environment; and, (3) The adult learning system is accountable and coordinated.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager CCDA Secretariat, The Advisor collaborates with secretariat team members to provide and evolve services to meet the needs of the CCDA. This position functions within the parameters of applicable Government and Ministry legislation, regulations, policies, directives and procedures.

**The role would require performance of the responsibilities as listed below**:

- Participate on and provide support to Pan-Canadian committees, working groups, and project teams as the representative for the CCDA secretariat.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for developing a strategic plan, annual report and communication strategies for the CCDA, and support the manager in approval processes and document release.
- Synthesize and analyze trends and data related to strategic priority areas identified by the CCDA, such as Red Seal program operations, national apprenticeship issues (e.g. apprentice mobility), exam participation, and supporting greater participation of under-represented groups in apprenticeship.
- Draft program key messages for use by the CCDA members goals.
- Identify operational issues that have potential to impact the secretariat and resolve issues where appropriate and develops recommendations for the Manager and/or CCDA members
- Lead the identification and maintenance of operational processes and linkages to enhance common and consistent approaches.
- Travel, set up and staff the kiosk at multiple events such as the Skills Canada National competition and the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum conference events throughout Canada
- Develop briefing materials, responses to Action Requests/Issue Papers, presentations, and correspondence to ensure that there is appropriate input, particularly those materials that can impact decision-making.
- Draft project implementation plans, and support implementation and project management activities as required.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation in a related field plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

- Knowledge of Red Seal Program, Mandate and Structure.
- Knowledge of Administrative and financial policies that are applicable to the CCDA (e.g., GoC or GoA)
- Knowledge of Research and Analysis methods.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products.
