**Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding**
- Develop recruitment policies and strategies.
- Partner with the leadership team to understand the capability needs of the organization and develop the talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Assess and build talent pipelines and workforce plans.
- Provide onboarding services and agency orientation to all new staff members and ensure department and/or program level orientations are standardized and effective.

**Employee programs**
- Develop, review, and/or improve employee programs to attract, engage and retain top talent.
- Ensure employee programs align with the strategic vision, mission, values of WOCRC.
- Create and actively support employee engagement initiatives.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Create and deliver internal employee surveys using feedback provided to guide program decisions.
- Develop internal staff training and identify relevant available external training.
- Lead Pay Equity

**Total rewards and job classification**
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts, engages and retains top talent.
- Coordinate benefits program to ensure alignment WOCRC policy and legislative compliance. Make regular recommendations for program improvements.

- Manage disability and injury claims and follow up with internal and external partners on the progression of each file including return to work planning.
- Collaborate with managers to update job descriptions across the agency and implement a system for regular review and revision to descriptions.

**Employee and Labour Relations**
- Train, coach, and support managers to navigate evaluating performance, training, promotion, discipline, termination, and other HR issues.
- Prepare for an oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Actively participate in performance improvement plans.
- Coach/Mentor: Provide guidance and resources at all levels of the org from Senior Management to employees.

**Collective Bargaining and negotiating**
- Leads and acts as the primary contact for contract negotiations and collective bargaining.
- Reviews, assesses and evaluates the impact of changes to the collective agreements and employment legislation.
- Pro-actively recommends and implements appropriate actions for the resolution of potential problems.

**Grievances and labour dispute resolution**

Develops appropriate negotiating strategies and the provision of consulting services to WOCRC on a variety of issues including policy and contract interpretation and bargaining unit disputes.
- Analyzes trends in employee relations issues pertaining to grievances/arbitration and investigates alternate approaches to conflict resolution and problem-solving methodologies.
- Liaises with external experts, as appropriate and as directed, to identify options for resolution of issues and labour disputes.
- Provides guidance to management on the appropriateness of disciplinary and non-disciplinary actions.
- Respond to grievances and conducts grievance investigations and monitors grievance activities to identify underlying issues.

**Communications**

Prepare reports and communications with respect to outcomes of collective bargaining results.
- Perform routine updates as required under the collective agreements and communicates with the union and management team.
- Works in partnership with the Coordinator, Human Resources and Labour Relations to ensure that employee relations activities are coordinated and escalated to the Executive Director as required.

**Training and Development**
- Educates staff on processes for filing a grievance and general understanding of the collective agreement.
- Provides training and guidance to staff and management to ensure a positive work environment is maintained; and preserving working relations with the union and other stakeholders.

**Organizational Management**
- Assists with the overall functioning of the Centre through participation on the Management Team.
