**JOB SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the Superintendent or designate, the Manager of Community & Settlement Services requires the incumbent to
facilitate the development of community programming initiatives, networking with integrated services and creating
partnerships with families and the community. The incumbent will oversee and supervise the Community Support Team and the
ZONE Settlement Team (provide settlement services and support to permanent residents who are settling in the St. Vital and St.
Boniface areas of Winnipeg to facilitate their initial transition and long-term integration into Canadian society).

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Supervise Community Support and Zone Settlement teams.
- Manage the budgets that support the work of these teams.
- Support the realization of LRSD’s Multi Year Strategic Plan, specifically:

- 1.1. Expanding the LRSD Community Schools Network at the Rene Deleurme Centre to serve more schools and
families.
- o 4.5. Implementing a universal healthy foods and beverages program.
- Provide leadership to team members to:
- Assess client needs and provide support and referrals in accessing specialized services and community resources.
- required.- Build and maintain positive working relationship with service providers, agencies, schools, and other stakeholders on an on
- going basis, to determine current resources, programs, and available services for newcomers.- Collaborate with clients and schools for student registration and participating in school intake and orientation meetings.
- Provide individual, family and group information and orientation sessions related to settlement needs.
- Provide ongoing case management, culturally sensitive advocacy, outreach, and support.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant files, statistical data, and report monthly on all activities.
- Lead staff meetings, settlement interagency meetings and any other committee meetings as required.
- Respond to the food security needs of the community.

**QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND SKILLS)**:

- Completion of post-secondary training or education in social work, psychology, behavioural science, or related areas of

studies.
- Related experience in a similar position.
- Previous experience working with community groups, government and non-profit agencies and organizations.
- Previous experience working in multi-ethnic setting.
- Knowledge of community and available resource organizations.
- Experience with grant writing and project management.
- Ability to create and coordinate a Community School partners consultation team.
- Understanding and appreciation of variety of cultures.
- Work experience with children/adolescents in educational setting.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret situations accurately and to act accordingly.
- a positive outlook with a belief in the ethic of caring and inclusion.
- excellent verbal and written skills in both official languages (English and French) may be required.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.
- Completion of Respect In School or equivalent training.
