_**English as a Second Language Part-Time Evening Instructor**_
- **Job Overview**_
- The ESL teacher is responsible for planning and implementing English as a second language classes for adult learners in the LINC - Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada program._
- **Role and responsibilities**_
- Plan and teach settlement focused lessons each week to a group of adult learners
- Plan course content based on results of student needs assessment
- Implement portfolio-based language assessment (PBLA) for each learner
- Assess student progress and prepare reports based on Canadian Language Benchmarks
- Keep secure and accurate attendance records, activity reports and student reports
- **Qualifications**_
- Teaching English as a Second Language Certificate from a TESL Canada certified institution
- Undergraduate degree
- Basic Computer Competency is required.
- Experience teaching LINC classes would be an asset
- PBLA and Avenue.ca training would be an asset
- Thorough understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks and PBLA
- Experience working with adult learners in an online environment an asset
- Knowledge and sensitivity to the settlement process for newcomers
- Exceptional interpersonal skills which demonstrate the organization’s values of learning, respect and integrity
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

- Location: Rene Deleurme Centre, 511 St. Anne’s Rd and online
- Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-9:00pm
- Job Type: Term position, January 24th, 2023 - March 23rd, 2023 **Possibility of extension contingent upon external funding and positive probation period
- Class Levels: CLB 3-4 and 4-5 to be filled by two instructors
- Salary: $42.00/hour - 7.5 hours per week (includes teaching and prep time)
