As a Caseworker, you’ll be instrumental in guiding individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges through their transition from correctional facilities back to the community.

Under the direction of the Residential Coordinator, you will perform various tasks related to case planning, service coordination, counselling, and crisis intervention. Additionally, you’ll provide direct support to individuals with their daily needs, fostering independence and self-sufficiency.

**Preferred Education and Background**:

- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a relevant social service field (ex. Developmental Service Worker, Psychology, Social Service Worker, Community Justice Worker, etc.; _Equivalent experience and skills will also be considered._
- Experience in casework, case management, or related fields, preferably in a social service setting.
- Preferred: Familiarity with specialized approaches for supporting clients with complex needs, such as developmental disabilities, mental heath, addictions, homelessness and trauma.
- Preferred: Familiarity and experience working with the Adult Criminal Justice System.
- Experience building capacity and offering compassionate support to individuals with daily living needs, encompassing both Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
- Knowledge of the justice system, and developmental services.
- Familiarity and experience developing and implementing individual service plans.
- Ability to collaborate closely with individuals to establish achievable, specific goals, and identify intermediate targets for change.
- Good charisma and a positive attitude towards challenging situations and individuals.
- Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing techniques to facilitate behaviour change and goal attainment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating closely with colleagues and other service providers.
- Proven ability to assess risk and make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Competency using various data collection tools and case management software.
- Strong commitment to empowering individuals and promoting positive change in their lives.
