**About the role**:The Project ReSet program works with individuals who are at risk of promoting, supporting, or committing violence or high-risk behaviour related to or associated with an ideology or targeting of identifiable groups or institutions. The T4C program works with individuals engaged in or involved with street-level violence. The caseworkers provide responsive, individualized case management and wraparound support and services in the community or institutions. Services are client-centered, and so, the needs, strengths, and goals of the client guide the intervention plan. The goal is to enhance protective factors, reduce risk and vulnerability factors, and improve community connection. Training for professionals and the greater community will be part of the role. Travel throughout Eastern Ontario is required.
**If you’re right for this role, you’ll be natural at**:
- Understanding of and experience working with clients who struggle with multiple barriers, both at a systemic and individual level (mental health, criminality, substance use, history of trauma)
- Designing and attending outreach programs, engaging with clients, and designing strategic interventions with individuals involved in or at risk of targeted violence/crime and their families and communities.
- Initiative, perseverance, curiosity, flexibility, and organizational skills to ensure tasks are promptly and accurately completed, under tight timelines with the ability to Communicate, including providing and receiving feedback.
- Strong independent work skills
- Speaking in public, engaging with the community and other professionals (as required)
**You'll stand out if you have...**
- Understanding of trauma and its implications for those individuals intended by this project.
- Experience in conducting standardized assessments which supports clients to establish and achieve their goals.
- Knowledge of and training in the VERA-2R.
- Experience and commitment to working with marginalized populations in a dignified and respectful manner.
- Providing intensive case management in the community, at institutions, or the office, including both direct counselling/support and bridging to other services.
- Using structured interventions that target areas known to put individuals at risk for ongoing criminal behaviour or extremism.
- Meeting deadlines, managing multimodal interventions and working efficiently under pressure.
- Working with individuals in the community during crisis and other high-risk engagement situations.
- Using data collected through numerous sources (assessment, collaterals, and/or other documents) to complete regular reports, trackers, and/or other required documentation
You have a unique history. Does it include the education and experience listed below?
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in the field of social sciences or relevant lived experience.
- Minimum two years’ experience providing direct intervention to at-risk/justice-involved transition-aged youth and/or adults and their families.
- Experience and ability to work with various aspects of the youth and adult justice systems, including diversion, detention, custody, probation, and parole, as well as police services.
- Proven effective relationship-building with community partners and referral sources.
