St. John Ambulance is an integral part of Ontario communities offering in addition to its training/product offerings, opportunities for independent contractors to teach its first aid and applied health safety courses. St. John Ambulance also offers innovative volunteer programs such as medical first response, emergency response, car seat education, health and safety related youth programs, therapy dog services and home caregiver education. As a charitable, humanitarian organization, proceeds from St. John Ambulance’s training/product sales directly support these vital volunteer community services programs.

**Essential Duties**:
**Business Development**:

- Identify, develop, manage, and implement business strategies and initiatives to increase revenue, achieve business targets, acquire new relationships, and expand existing relationships within the Eastern Ontario region.

**Financial Management**:

- Accountable for the regional operating and financial results as per the St. John Ambulance Ontario’s approved annual operations plan and budget.

**Operational Management**:

- Oversee business development, financial management, resources and facility management, and employee management/performance. Training administration/delivery and support to community and charitable activities.
- Provide oversight of policy compliance, insurance, and risk related compliance, working collaboratively with those responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures for volunteers, instructors, and employees.

**Human Resources**:

- In collaboration with St. John Ambulance Ontario’s Human Resources Department, performance manage Regional Branch employees and instructors.

**Volunteer Relations**:

- Collaborate with a Regional Branch Board capitalizing on their knowledge and expertise as advisors to operational activities, while providing operational support to the charitable/community services oversight activities regionally. These support activities may include fund development, volunteer/community services operations, and recognition activities.

**Other**:

- Parameters of the role will require occasional emergency response, weekend, and after-hours work.
- Occasional travel within the Eastern Ontario region.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:

- Undergraduate or graduate degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience working in Business Management).
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit organization.
- Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated financial management experience.
- Business (proposal) writing is an asset.
- Experience in working with an advisory Board.
- Demonstrated hands-on individual capable of working at multiple levels depending on the needs of the regional branch.

**Salary**: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
