THP is seeking an experienced individual in Quality and Practice domains to join its Quality, Risk and Practice portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Quality, Risk and Practice, the Vice President, Quality and Practice will be responsible for building upon the foundation and supporting the execution of the organization’s service delivery, quality and patient safety programs, risk management and ethics framework, professional practice model and infection prevention control measures.

With your teams, you will build upon a strong foundation as we move forward with THP’s Strategic Plan by advancing quality through standardization and driving practice:

- Enhancing the patient experience by contributing to - and partnering on - patient safety initiatives and quality outcomes
- Improving structure around existing departments by developing tools and documentation to support quality and risk management, including business requirements, while supporting the work of these departments and helping them to reach desired outcomes
- Contributing to the short and long term organizational strategy by providing strategic level support from a quality and practice point of view
- Monitoring and mitigating risks, focusing on themes that emerge as core risks to our strategic plan, including capacity and infrastructure, the wide-scale and complex nature of change, changing roles and accountabilities across clinical and corporate domains
- Coaching and supporting the senior team and other THP stakeholders to ensure a continuous focus on high quality, patient and provider focused experiences as part of our organizational culture
- Monitoring and reporting on professional practice standards
- Informing and supporting the interprofessional model of care
- Promoting behaviour that prevents infection through education and awareness
- Supporting pandemic and post-pandemic workstreams, including partnerships with People Health and Patient Care Services to ensure effective IPAC measures that support safety while considering impacts to capacity and flow related risks
- Supporting the Ethics Program in delivering ethical decision-making throughout the organization through the identification, analysis, and resolution of ethical issues
- Working closely with peers and industry networks to share best practices information
- Planning and implementing quality assurance and compliance processes
- Continuously assessing portfolio performance to ensure delivery of innovation and best-practice solutions in all aspects of the portfolio
- Advancing the portfolio’s opportunities to participate and/or lead scholarly work

**Scope of Responsibility**:
The Vice President will oversee:

- Quality, Risk and Patient Safety
- Professional Practice
- Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC)
- Ethics

The Vice President will also be a member of the THP Senior Leadership Team and will work closely with THP’s Board of Directors, in particular supporting select Board activities related to quality and risk.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Have a strong ability to set and deliver on standards of practice
- Be an internal advocate for the advancement of quality in all areas, and will bring expertise in the legislative framework in which professional staff are governed
- Have expertise in long-range planning coupled with insight into mitigating risks and be instrumental in furthering a culture that emphasizes the importance of proactive risk management
- Be an exceptional relationship developer, capable of inspiring teams, building internal and external partnerships, and working with organizational partners to facilitate change, while fostering a culture of inclusion, creativity and innovation
- Foster an inclusive culture, leveraging diversity for better outcomes
- Have a track record of driving a positive staff and profession
