Family owned & operated since 1948, Bayview Flowers is a live plant grower, broker, and distributor that services supermarkets and big box retailers across North America. We are currently looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team.

Job Summary

The Logistics Manager will be responsible and accountable for the overall delivery of all logistics-related activities by the organization’s operations and logistics policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide expertise and leadership to support Bayview Logistics through operations support, operations analysis, logistics planning, fleet inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

2. Assist with developing and recommending an annual operating budget and business plans to support strategic goals and objectives.

3. Attend weekly management meetings to provide information, updates and feedback on issues, opportunities or changes in policies, procedures.

4. Direct the timely and accurate preparation, submission, and regulatory compliance of all drivers, products, and vehicle documentation required by transport and customs authorities.

5. Provide leadership and direction to the team through coaching, mentoring, and developing direct reports.

6. Identify, recommend, design, and implement continuous improvement opportunities for Bayview Logistics.

7. Establish processes in transportation that enable complete visibility of all vehicle movements while maintaining the company’s objectives and targets to ensure the timely delivery of goods.

8. Monitor and measure all inbound and outbound orders within the Bayview network.

9. Determine the specific freight rates for US and Canadian shipping.

10. Collect, review, and analyzes operational information key performance indicators (KPIs), budget reports, operational expenditures, and other controls.

11. Ensure exceptional customer service and solid customer relationships are maintained with internal and external customers.

12. Direct the sourcing, selection, repair and preventative maintenance, and insurance of all physical assets of the logistics division.

13. Ensure the development of processes and procedures for logistics operations, equipment utilization, and labour management.

14. Ensure the smooth flow of communication between logistics, warehouse, and support functions to create consistency and clarity of direction on operational projects and priorities and awareness of support function requirements.

15. Perform workplace inspections to highlight and address safety concerns.

16. Ensures CVOR and transportation fleet and maintenance programs shall be adhered to.

Job Specific Qualifications

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating effectively with internal and external customers.

2. 3-5 Years of Management Experience in Logistics and Transportation

3. Post Secondary Education, Logistics Certifications and Management Certifications Preferred

4. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook, database management)

5. Working knowledge of Excel and database management
