- About the roleAs ATB's next Events Specialist, you will be championing the event experiences for clients and team members. The Events Specialist is a hybrid thinker who possesses traits of a business and relationship developer, content marketer and an event planner. You are a self-starter and someone who has a proven track record of building and nurturing impact-focused partnerships, you take a pragmatic approach to securing speaking and sponsorship opportunities for ATB and have turned events into unforgettable experiences. When supporting our external events, you are keeping line of sight to deepening our relationships with clients, supporting team members who are activating the events, and raising ATB’s profile in key markets. This is a 12 month temporary opportunity.
- Accountabilities- Produce and coordinate information required for external client events and internal team member events and activities
- Collaborate and partner with various internal partners including (not limited to) our Enterprise marketing, Reputation & Brand and Sponsorship & Community Initiatives team
- Create a system for ATB Wealth Events tracking in the interim of other technology solutions
- Setup registration requirements for events and respond to inquiries
- Lead and execute large in-person and/or online conference planning
- Work with events staff to track and fulfill deliverables for event sponsors and exhibitors
- Provide on-site event support, including badge printing, coordination of signage, and registration
- Coordinate and monitor event timelines
- Ensure our coverage commitments are done in a timely manner, and work cohesively with ATB’s Sponsorship & Community Initiatives team
- Coordinate catering, audio-visual, and other special technical programming requests.
- Manage third party vendors and insurance
- Produce and communicate produce post-event reports; measure KPIs and create benchmarks for client satisfaction, aided/unaided awareness, consideration across events;
- travel will be required to cities where we are hosting events (major cities and US)

Event Planning and Execution
- Negotiate mutually beneficial agreements with event partners, contractors, and producers
- Post-event reporting, measurement of KPIs and establishing benchmarks for client experience, brand awareness and consideration
- Monitor and maintain event and sponsorship budget

Partnership and Sponsorship Management
- Work with marketing on key partnerships including industry associations, consultants, and event organizers
- Assess industry sponsorship opportunities and work with our Sponsorship & Community Initiatives team members to evaluate opportunities and ensure we are maximizing the value and impact from our sponsorships.
- Maintain a calendar of events and manage our partnership budget - managing through partnerships
- Skills, experience & requirements- A Bachelor’s degree in the field of events, marketing or communications or equivalent experience in a comparable role
- Ability to conceptualize, plan and execute large scale events with numerous stakeholders, on time and on budget
- Experience with negotiating and developing contracts and invoicing
- Technology awareness - ability to work with various databases and systems
- Proficient with GSuite
- Digital marketing and virtual events platforms (web on demand)
- Excellent Communications (written and verbal)
- Ability to quickly comprehend requirements and prioritize
