The Office of the Chief Coroner, CYDRA (Child and Youth Death Review Analysis) is seeking a dedicated Program Policy Analyst to join our team. As a Program Policy Analyst, you will play a vital role in providing research, analytical, project management and transformational support services within the Office of the Chief Coroner. You will use your creativity and innovative thinking to help our team as we challenge and drive change to the services, systems and structures that provide much-needed supports to children, youth and families.

The purpose of child and youth death reviews is to explore the circumstances related to the child or youth's death in order to honour their lives, learn from them, and make recommendations to prevent further deaths. The goal is to reduce child and youth deaths, make service-level, systemic, and structural recommendations aimed to prevent deaths, and to contribute to public safety by supporting recommendations that enhance the overall well-being of children, youth, their families, and communities.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- Research, evaluate and analyze records and documentation related to programs and services and provide information, advice and recommendations
- Collaborate with others to design and coordinate mechanisms to investigate deaths and evaluate program effectiveness
- Provide support in the implementation of Ministry directions and policies
- Access, investigate and interpret program information
- Lead and participate in multi-sector death review processes and multi-ministry project teams, including engagement with families, service providers and communities.
- Review, prepare and update issues management plans, briefing notes and correspondence
- Lead initiatives that require project management and process design

**How do I qualify?**:
**Program Evaluation Knowledge and Experience**:

- You have knowledge of and experience in programs, delivery mechanisms, policies, procedures, and related legislation
- You have knowledge of decision-making processes, accountability structures, and program delivery standards
- You have knowledge of program, financial, or operational management and monitoring approaches
- You have the ability to evaluate effectiveness and performance, identifying best practices and business improvement opportunities.

**Investigative, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills**:

- You can collect, aggregate and analyze information to contribute to the development of innovative approaches that focus on structures, systems, strategies, programs and services.

You have investigative skills and can engage in system
- and structural-level analysis.
- You can conduct research, prepare materials and advice for ministry senior leadership review and decision-making.
- You can assess the effectiveness of policies/programs against Ministry initiatives and goals
- You can lead and participate in project teams, represent the organization on ministerial/divisional groups, and organize the activities of task forces and working groups.

**Relationship Management and Facilitation Skills**:

- You have expertise in creating and managing stakeholder relationships
- You can consult and provide appropriate advice on policies, standards and programs to stakeholders
- You demonstrate sound judgment, decision-making, sensitivity and a high degree of political acuity

**Communication Skills**:

- You have communication skills to prepare complex reports, correspondence and briefing materials
- You can create, lead and present research and investigation findings to senior management
- You can respond to issues, provide recommendations and prepare reports using standard computer software
