Cypress Mountain, one of Boyne Resorts world class properties, is searching for an innovative and accomplished leader to be the General Manager. The GM will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the resort’s operations, while aligning strategies with company goals and objectives to maximize profitability.

Located just 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Cypress Mountain is right at the city’s doorstep. With unparalleled terrain and the largest vertical rise, most runs and biggest mountain on the North Shore, Cypress Mountain is Vancouver’s premier mountain playground. With winter skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowtubing and snowshoeing as well as the summer coaster, Cypress truly offers something for everyone.

Boyne Resorts is a collection of mountain and lakeside resorts, ski areas, and attractions spanning from British Columbia to Maine. The company owns and operates thirteen properties and an outdoor lifestyle equipment/apparel retail division with stores in cities throughout Michigan, USA. An industry leader in operations that include Snowsports and year-round mountain recreation, golf, an indoor waterpark, spas, food, and beverage, lodging and real estate development.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES **(include but not limited to the following)**:

- Hire, motivate, evaluate, and direct senior team to ensure adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established goals and objectives
- Shape and support the resort’s vision, mission, and brand statements
- Maintains a close relationship with the controller to develop and implement budgets for all departments
- Maintain and enhance a guest-focused culture
- Heavily involved with resort planning and development, working directly with corporate team, consultants, and regulation agencies
- Works with insurance carries, corporate legal and local council on Risk Management
- Present on various topics such as resort expansion, community outreach, resort structure
- Develop strategies, pricing, and promotions with the marketing team
- Confirming accurate coding and approval of all invoices and PO’s
- Consistently be up to date on legal issues and technological advances which impact the industry and the resort; and maintain awareness of scope and progress of competition
- Represent Cypress on ski boards and committees
- Job Requirements/Qualifications:

- **QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES**:

- Prior experience in ski resort operations and/or adequate understanding of all areas of the resort’s operations is preferred—most notably in the areas of snowmaking, snow grooming, chairlifts, lodging, and food/beverage
- Solid understanding of the complexities around recruitment, training, and oversight of team members in a diverse range of operations
- Demonstrated a commitment to work a schedule that is driven by the needs of the resort business including requirements to work additional hours, weekends, and holidays
- Demonstrated success in a leadership role with excellent interpersonal, communication, motivational, negotiation skills, and a high level of emotional intelligence
- Effective communication skills with the ability to delegate responsibility and motivate
- Successful track record of proficient planning, business, and financial capabilities
- Understanding of the resort’s brand and the importance of always enhancing it

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**:

- Must be able to legally work in Canada
- Hold a valid BC Driver’s License
- Have a reliable/insured vehicle required to get to/from work
