The Advisor, Equity Talent Acquisition (Indigenous Peoples) is responsible for leading the implementation of Indigenous related strategies, initiatives and programs to recruit, select, retain and develop Indigenous employees and ensure employment equity targets are achieved within their assigned regions. The Advisor promotes and advocates for Indigenous representation in the region by building and cultivating positive working relationships and genuine partnerships with local Indigenous communities, allied organizations and networks that are founded in trust and respect. The Advisor will leverage networks and partnerships to identify and develop a robust pipeline of Indigenous talent to support equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) goals and regional employment equity gaps. As the regional point of contact, the Advisor will provide advice and guidance on the Talent Management process, including the end-to-end engagement with current and prospective Indigenous talent. The Advisor conducts regional analyses of potential and existing barriers and risks, and recommends solutions to mitigate those barriers.

**Responsibilities**:
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Advisor, Equity Talent Acquisition (Indigenous Peoples).

1. Leads the implementation and execution of Indigenous strategies, initiatives and programs at a regional level to recruit, select, retain and develop Indigenous employees and ensure employment equity targets and goals are achieved.

2. Champions and advocates for Indigenous employment equity in the field. Communicates and influences internal stakeholders to prioritize and actively support Indigenous strategies, initiatives and programs. Provides expert advice, guidance and support in accordance with ED&I Committee goals, Indigenous and Northern Affairs and Corporate policies, and related legislative requirements.

4. Leads and champions equity census campaigns, events and reporting across the region. Monitors and evaluates program outcomes. Recommends solutions to support continuous improvement.

5. Designs, develops and executes regional equity measures address regional gaps, underlying barriers and risks to Indigenous employment.

**Job Responsibilities (continued)**:
7. Collaborates with Canada Post Talent Management and Talent Acquisition functions to help ensure a robust regional pipeline of internal and external talent to support the future needs of the organization. Conducts stay interviews to proactively engage and retain Indigenous employees and exit interviews to identify areas of opportunity. Participates, provides guidance and applies an Indigenous lens in Human Resource matters involving Indigenous Peoples to ensure appropriate measures, support and accommodations, as necessary, are provided.

8. Acts as the Employee Resource Group (EGR) regional lead for all strategies and programs related to attracting, retaining and promoting Indigenous Peoples. Provides strategic advice, operational guidance and best practice support to Recruiters, HRBPs and other internal stakeholders to ensure the intent and principles of Indigenous strategies are realized.

9. Collaborates with Learning and Development to deliver Indigenous specific cultural competency training at the regional level to enhance self-awareness and elevate the skills of regional recruiters and those who work directly and indirectly with Indigenous Peoples. Delivers training in a manner that is sensitive, inclusive, and respectful of complex issues.

10. Provides advice to Government Affairs on communications and responses to media inquiries related to regional Indigenous relations.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**
- Completed post-secondary, preferably in a related field OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training

**Experience**
- Three to five years’ of relevant functional experience in particular related to recruitment and retention of Indigenous employees
- One or more years’ of experience in a unionized environment an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis and Inuit), communities and organizations
- Designated Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) has lived experience or resides in an Indigenous community is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of Indigenous culture, history, barriers and issues, including the social and economic determinants of health
