The Opportunity
The City of St. Albert requires a motivated, energetic team player with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to lead the economic development department’s efforts in research, collection, analysis, and dissemination of economic and statistical information, as well as support the Economic Development department business plans, strategies and annual workplans.

Through interdepartmental cooperation the Business Intelligence and License Specialist ensures legislative compliance relating to the licensing and regulation of businesses, occupations, and property as well as the licensing of tobacco retail operations on behalf of and within the City of St. Albert. The Specialist is responsible for ensuring all businesses are operating with a valid City of St. Albert Business License.

**Qualifications**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Community Economic Development, Business Administration, Municipal Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years experience in statistics, data analysis, economics, and/or marketing communications
- Analytical and reasoning skills are required to understand the various bylaws that govern the work of this position. Must have a sound knowledge of and be able to interpret municipal bylaws that include Business Licensing, Tobacco and Land Use Bylaw, City procedure manuals and provincial statutes, regulations and proceedings relating to the licensing function.
- A Class 5 driver’s license and personal vehicle are required for this role.

Hours of Work
You will work a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 with a regular day off [RDO] every two weeks). This position will be required to work flexible hours to accommodate meetings or events.
Compensation
$79,053 - $97,296 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive flexible benefit package.
