**The Opportunity**:
The Planner is responsible for effectively managing the planning for the Team division based on customer requirements, planning requirements in other regions, equipment requirements, and any special requests applicable to drivers and/or equipment in the managed area.

- Office hours; Monday to Friday from approximately 7:00am to 4:00pm (please note, as this is a day shift, there is no shift premium associated with this role)

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Planning Team trucks effectively to reduce empty miles; managing the empty miles ratios as well as Team driver wait pay.
- Dispatches trucks on planned loads; tracks dispatched trucks on a daily basis to ensure on-time performance
- Works with Driver Coordinators to achieve driver needs and goals
- Implement efficient equipment utilization
- Monitors and maintains customer trailer pools
- Works with customers, other carriers and load brokers to effectively balance trucks and mitigate Team driver wait time between loads.
- Books pickup and delivery appointments as needed
- Provides after-hours support to other divisions as required
- Performs other duties as required

**What You Need to be Successful in the Role**:

- Minimum of 2-3 years of dispatching or effective trip planning experience is required
- Experience in the transportation industry considered to be an asset
- Possess a good working knowledge of North American geography
- Positive, outgoing and friendly personality
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong self-discipline to effectively complete tasks without constant supervision
- Self-starter with strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as a team
