**Description**:
As a member of the Engineering and Maintenance team, the
**Maintenance Planner **is responsible for planning and scheduling of down-day and weekly maintenance work, and management of the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), that includes work orders, purchasing of materials, and system record maintenance. The Maintenance Planner works with maintenance management, tradespersons, operations/production teams, and contractors to ensure the safe and organized effectiveness of plant maintenance activities. He/she will lead weekly down day scheduling and associated meetings.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring the safety of employees and contractors by tracking of all safety work orders to completion on a timely basis
- Arrange contractors, equipment, and necessary parts to complete the work
- Using SAP and MS Office computer programs to support the effective completion of maintenance work
- Lead and develop weekly schedules for down day work
- Ensure the integrity of the CMMS system by updating records and work order information
- Implement world class planning and scheduling methods and ensure conformance with CGT’s standard practices
- Plan and coordinate CGT’s annual and extended shutdown work

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:
**Education**
- Completion of a college or university level technology program
- Skilled Trade certification an asset
- Certification in building maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in building maintenance an asset

**Experience**
- 3-5 years minimum of professional experience in a medium to large **unionized **automotive, manufacturing environment in a maintenance planning role.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, MP2, CAD, payroll systems, etc.
- First Aid/CPR, Confined Space, Emergency Response/Spill Response, MOL Supervisor Awareness training
- Strong understanding of environmental and occupational health and safety regulations
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
- Experience using SAP, preferred
- Willingness to learn and have a disciplined approach to the planning process
- Flexible to requirements of working off shift, evenings, weekends and holidays in order to meet the needs of the business
