**About Us**:
The Centre for School Mental Health (CSMH) within the Faculty of Education addresses the need for improved school-based promotion and prevention and intervention services for children who may be at risk for, or who present with, mental health challenges. Our team of researchers, educators, students, and administrators is focused on the mental health, well-being, and relationship development of youth from kindergarten to grade 12.

**Responsibilities**:
The Community Project Coordinator will build and maintain partnerships across the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation (ANSN) community to engage and liaise with Elders for Healthy Relationships Plus (HRP)-Enhanced program adaptation. The Coordinator will oversee the program and manual development, reach out to vulnerable youth and engage them in programming, and ensure the plans are implemented within the community. This position also includes responsibility for knowledge dissemination and sharing lessons learned to other First Nations, to funders, and at national/international conferences. A strong leadership presence and cultural knowledge is necessary to connect with and influence key stakeholders in ANSN communities and social networks.

**Qualifications**:

- Education:
- Undergraduate degree
- Experience:
- 3 years of work experience within Indigenous communities
- 3 years of culturally relevant group program facilitation with First Nations youth in a school setting
- 1 year of management leadership experience in the area of community health
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have an ability to communicate and conduct project responsibilities in English and languages spoken at First Nations communities (as many as possible for potential program scale up)
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support program implementation
- Verbal and written communication skills to describe cultural concepts effectively to both new and experienced stakeholders
- Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
- Youth-minded communication skills to understand their needs and expectations, with a desire to deliver helpful and appropriate insight to the University and broader community
- Ability and willingness to stay abreast of First Nations cultural developments
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues and the public
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement, while being open to trying new ideas and working methods
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a remote member of the team to achieve department goals
