**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Director, Digital Health.

The Canadian Neuromuscular Disease Registry (CNDR) is seeking a Scientific Coordinator who can drive forward our impactful research programs by engaging with our clinical community and stakeholders, leading research proposals and statistical analyses, writing project reports, leading and performing data quality initiatives, and providing input on day-to-day research activities.

The primary purpose of the Scientific Coordinator role is to provide scientific direction and expertise to CNDR-related projects in conjunction with the Executive Director, and to lead statistical analysis and data quality control efforts.

**Position Description**

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):

- Providing scientific input and direction to ongoing and future research projects
- Developing research proposals, plans, and reports in conjunction with the Program Manager
- Providing scientific input on project monitoring and proposed changes, in conjunction with the CNDR team
- Cleaning and analyzing data for publication, interim analyses, or data quality checks
- Providing input into processes and procedures for database management and data quality assurance
- Supporting program communications, development of publications, and other knowledge translation efforts such as presentations, posters, and webinars
- Communication and engagement of the network, including working with clinical investigators, research staff, patients and patient organizations, and industry sponsors on the development, deployment, and management of CNDR programs
- Leading and organizing meetings with stakeholders
- Support activities required for execution of research projects, as appropriate
- Ensuring that ethical approvals are complete and up-to-date as appropriate for the research projects
- May supervise, mentor, and train students and junior staff members to support conduct of research projects
- Making recommendations to registry operations or policy / procedural changes as needed

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field, such as neuroscience or health sciences
- PhD degree in a relevant field an asset
- At least 3-4 years of related research experience preferred; experience related to clinical research or real-world evidence and registries ideal
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to clean and analyze large datasets
- Strong knowledge of statistical software (e.g. R, SPSS, Stata, S-Plus, SAS) for data management and basic and advanced statistical analysis ideal
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of database software such as REDCap ideal
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, and experience engaging with a variety of stakeholders
- Reliable and confident in challenging situations
- Willingness to learn and use project management tools required
- Excellent English language skills in reading, writing, and oral communication
- French language an asset
- Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of University policies an asset
