As a Wheat Intake Operator, you will be responsible for all tasks and processes relevant to the daily movement of wheat and cleaning. This is an entry level position into the Mill.

**Your day to day activities will include**:

- Taking wheat samples for verification of quality on all deliveries of wheat
- Receive wheat at the mill by truck, rail, vessel or transfer from Grain Elevator
- Monitor wheat inventory at the plant
- Ensure the wheat intake equipment is maintained and in good working condition
- Maintain records and documents in accordance with relevant procedures
- Cover shifts in the mills, as required
- Ensure that cleaning materials and tools are in proper place and organized
- Assisting in preventative maintenance in mills
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred
- Physically fit with the ability to safely lift 25 pounds at any given time
- Competent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to work shift work
- Ability to complete Miller training courses as prescribed by P&H on an annual basis
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Halifax, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
