**Job Title**:Evening and Weekend Supervisor

**Scope of Position**:
The Souls Harbour Rescue Mission Men's Life Recovery Shelter is a 9 bed recovery program to help men with drug, alcohol or gambling addictions or other life controlling problems such as homelessness, anger or mental health issues. We use a 12 step program as well as practical life lessons and guidance from the Bible.

This is a Christian program that is designed to assist men in regaining their active place in society by ministering to the whole man; physically, mentally, spiritually and socially. This is more than just a supervisory role. This is a role with opportunity for mentorship and support. As the evening and weekend supervisor, you have a unique opportunity to work amongst the men as a missionary - offering prayer, friendship, and support.

**Organizational Relationships & Supervision**:
**Location of Position**:5568 Cunard Street

**Reports to**:Life Recovery Program Resident Manager

**Authority**:
Granted to supervise and discipline residents or their guests, according to the house rules. This person should freely seek advice or assistance when dealing with a difficult person or situation, particularly if it is a new, unfamiliar situation.

**Non-Negotiable Requirements**:

- Must be willing to abide by the doctrinal and mission statement of SHRM
- Must complete a criminal record check
- Must have basic first aid training - will provide if needed

**Qualifications**:

- Work experience in similar areas
- Patient and good listening skills
- Able to be assertive and firm with residents re: discipline and work assignments

**Expected Results**:
**Objectives**:To maintain practical aspects / operations of 5568 Cunard Street during evenings and weekends (and overnights when needed).

**Possible Interrelations**: COO, Head Chaplain

**Specific Duties**:

- Assist with shelter intakes at 4:00 if needed.
- Prepare supper (if no volunteers or interns) and make sure clean up takes place
- Ensure that all residents are in the building at curfew.
- Send any intoxicated resident to detox / intox / shelter and write an eviction report. Administer a drug or alcohol test if you are in doubt.
- Follow security and emergency procedures for accidents, trespassing, or violence.
- Administer disciplinary action to residents as per SHRM policies
- Give access to resident medications as needed.
- Refer those who come to the door to shelters. Assist with emergency food or clothing.
- Complete assigned janitorial tasks such as snow clearing, room cleaning, janitorial and laundry._
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and functions
- Other duties as assigned

**Hours**:
40 hours/week (evenings and overnights - weekends required)
- Some shifts may be switched to cover for holidays & vacations_

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Work Location: One location

Expected start date: 2023-03-01
