We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our esteemed law firm. As a Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial transactions and records of the firm, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of the accounting principles specific to the legal industry.

**Financial Reporting**: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements. Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
**Month-end and Year-end Closing**: Conduct thorough month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
**Payroll and Benefits Administration**: Performs payroll and benefits processing through computerized systems; review yearly benefit renewals; submit and enter bi-weekly payments; close the payroll year end to issue T4 statements to employees; set up and terminate employees within both systems.
**Tax Remittances**: Manage tax remittance processes, including HST/GST remittance in compliance with regulatory legal requirements.
**Budget Management**: Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial efficiency.
**Bank Reconciliation**: Perform bank reconciliation for multiple accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
**Trust Accounting**: Manage trust accounting and bookkeeping processes in accordance with legal and LSO regulatory requirements.
**Financial Results Analysis**: Analyze financial results and variances to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Providing insist to management for valuable insight on decision making.
**Departmental Oversight**: Provide oversight and guidance to staff, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and firm policies.
**Administrative Duties**: This area involves growth within the firm. As you will eventually be asked to support additional operational tasks within the firm.

10+ years of experience in legal finance.
Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., PCLaw, Quickbooks) and Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting procedures and GAAP.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
