**The Avalon Employment Team strive for their clients success in all aspects of the individuals employment; working with the individual to ensure readiness, skill development, workplace maintenance and ongoing support.**

Avalon Employment Inc. is currently seeking an **Employment Counsellor **to join our team. This person is responsible for assessing the client’s skills and developing employment goals with the result of securing employment. Also, this individual must have strong interpersonal skills to develop job opportunities with businesses and organizations in the community.

The Employment Counsellor will be responsible for interviewing clients to obtain employment history, educational background, and career goals. You will identify barriers to employment and assist clients with matters such as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing résumés and preparing for job interviews. This position will center on developing and sustaining partnerships with clients and successfully connecting great talent with top employers quickly and efficiently.

Our new team member will build quality business networks through community events and current labour market information. You will be creative and innovative when marketing to the business community and establishing long term employer partnerships. You should have a working knowledge of intellectual disabilities and autism to confidently advise employers on human resources and other employment matters.

**Salary**: $47,500.00 per year
