Student Housing Manager, Relief

**Salary**:
Classification 17, $28.59 - $29.48 per hour, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.50/hr. in lieu of benefits, as well as having 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay.

**Description**:
This position will provide relief for our regular staff during times of vacation, illness, etc. Hours will fluctuate, but will normally take place Monday - Friday, with a maximum daily of 7 hours.

The **Student Housing Manager** will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the housing including room assignments and building access, rent collections, communication/liaison with residents (verbal and written), assessing maintenance requirements (including furniture replacement), working within budget guidelines and processing financial requests (purchase orders, cheque requisitions, and VISA reconciling), record keeping, and postal services. Responsible for informing residents of the expectations of living in Student Housing, ensuring compliance with housing contracts and policies, and administering disciplinary measures according to the Student Housing Guide and Handbook, while promoting an environment that develops a sense of community that enhances student housing life. As the primary person responsible for student life in housing you will be a leader to the Student Housing Assistants and will onboard and provide them with direction during their contract. This position will also maintain relationships with other government agencies and companies in the community to maintain our tenant population during times when the student population is low.
