Do you have a strong background in transportation management? In this role you would be responsible for overall management of transportation activities for a specified region while monitoring best practices and driving continuous improvement within logistics and transportation.

Minimum Requirements:

- Post-secondary Business diploma, SCM Professional or Professional Logistics designation preferred
- Five years related work experience directly within transportation roles
- Direct experience within transportation, freight forwarding, logistics, and materials management
- Familiar with Dangerous Goods, Incoterms, Canada’s Transportation Act, exporting/importing, customs clearance, air, rail, and marine transportation methods, and commodities such as bulk piping, bulk and packaged chemicals, catalysts, and heavy industrial mining equipment
- Ability to quantify risk, assess trends and opportunities, define objectives, and proactively mitigate risk

**Responsibilities**:

- Coach and provide guidance on transportation best practices with internal peers and stakeholders
- Coordinate transportation requirements, track and trace, solicit transportation quotes for over-dimensional freight and international shipments
- Support and implement transportation strategies to achieve Warehouse, Supply Operations, Supply Chain, and Suncor business objectives
- Resolve issues related to logistics and transportation activities, escalating unresolved issues to leaders throughout Inbound Logistics and Supply Chain organizations
- Engage in Incident Learnings to help assess and improve carrier performance. Perform root cause and trend analyses to identify reasons for non-compliance and propose solutions
- Cost conscious - propose strategies to minimize the cost or time required to transport goods, look for synergies to capitalize on backhaul transportation

Location and other key details:

- You will work out of our Calgary head office, Fort McMurray, or Edmonton location
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- You will be required to be available after hours should there be a business need
