We are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer with an experience in Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) and Sour Water Stripper (SWS) processes to join Downstream Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD).
OESD’s technical team is a multi-disciplinary team provides the required high-quality technical support to GM operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & across the globe.
The primary role is to provide process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for refineries’ SRU & SWS, including remote and field technical advisory support, benchmarking, and SRU & SWS technology knowledge management and exchange. Drive the performance improvement programs which enhance process safety, optimize manufacturing cost, and increase plant reliability.
Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related specialization from a recognized and approved program. 17 years of total refinery or gas plants process units experience (process engineering and operations) with at least 10 years’ experience in handling SRUs/TGTU/SWS plants.
~ Excellent computer skills as well as presentation skills.
~ Demonstrate good command of English, both verbal and written.
~ Review and monitor performances of existing SRU & SWS facilities through KPIs representing the process plant’s operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
Issue quarterly SRU & SWS performance benchmarking reports highlighting KPIs, analysis, and improvement recommendations. Monitor & support facilities implementing the recommendations.
Conduct best practices exchange workshops internally among Global Manufacturing facilities having SRU & SWS process technologies.
Issue bi-monthly SRU & SWS technical best practices bulletin to facilities.
Provide technical advisory support to Global Manufacturing facilities on matters concerning the operation of SRU & SWS including: process design & troubleshooting, start-up and shutdown activities, capacity test runs, and technology pilot testing.
Conduct internal assessments on SRU & SWS process engineering standards using standard references. Highlight deviations or better practices applied by affiliates for endorsement to facility or Central Engineering. Support the implementation of relevant standards across Global Manufacturing.
Act as the overall coordinator for cascading and driving Global Manufacturing and Corporate programs to the facilities.
Participate in Business Plan development and coordinate with stakeholders for any capital investments on assigned process units and support techno-economic evaluations.
Recommend and coordinate proven technology deployments in SRU & SWS process units.
Support facilitation of knowledge exchange workshops with SRU & SWS process technology licensors and facilities.
Ensure continuous learning on SRU & SWS process engineering and technology specialist skills and provide in-house technical trainings to Global Manufacturing facilities when needed.
Act as overall coordinator on any SRU & SWS data required by GM Affiliate Affairs.
