**Position Summary**
The Instructional Multimedia Specialist will report to the Director, Academic Excellence and Program Quality and work as part of a cohesive Instructional Design and Development (IDD) team in the Centre for Academic Excellence and Program Quality (AEPQ). The IDD team supports the college by providing expertise in curriculum design and development, instructional design and course development strategies for modular, blended, hybrid, and fully online programming. In collaboration with the IDD team, the incumbent is responsible for the design and development of digital media assets to provide multiple means of engagement, representation and action/expression for a diversity of people. The incumbent will plan and design storyboards, develop and implement digital media assets and participate in the review and quality assurance processes.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist faculty in the definition and selection of appropriate instructional digital media strategies in order to facilitate engaging teaching practices and meaningful learning experiences.
- Ensure compliance with instructional design principles, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), copyright and intellectual property laws, quality assurance measures, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards in the development of all digital media learning materials and professional development / support resources.
- Support the course development process by providing dynamic design solutions related to visual aesthetic, content organization and navigation, and student experience that is compatible with the College’s Learning Management System (eCentennial) and licensed tools.
- Support faculty and course development projects by developing and maintaining accessible LMS content templates using modern and responsive web design (HTML5/CSS3/JS) solutions.
- Participate in/organize formal, semi-formal, and informal collaboration opportunities to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, skills, and information.
- Collaborate on the creation of documentation related to the facilitation of meaningful learning experiences using technology and digital media.
- Communicate effectively with faculty members, chairs and deans to ensure timely completion and delivery of course development projects.

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Three-year diploma/degree in Graphic Design, Multi-Media Design, Instructional Media Design, Curriculum and/or Instructional Design, Educational Technology or another related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years related experience in instructional media design, multi-media or digital media design, eLearning design or adult education.
- Practical experience and expertise in instructional media design and development of classroom, hybrid, modular, blended and fully online programming, eLearning and digital media creation/delivery.
- Previous teaching experience is an asset, preferably in a post-secondary institution.
- Experience using at least one Learning Management System (LMS) in the development of classroom, hybrid, blended and/or fully online engagement.
- Practical experience and expertise with modern web design programming languages including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal departments and external clients
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, work independently, exercise sound judgement and assume accountability.
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of working effectively in a diverse environment.

Proof of credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post secondary institutions and/or their foreign equivalents will be required at the time of job offer.
