**AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY**:
As part of the Economic Development Division, and reporting to the Manager, Sponsorship & Corporate Development, this role provides sales and administrative support for the pursuit of external funding through sponsorship and third-party advertising to deliver a reliable non-tax revenue source to the City and drive a strong local economy.
The position is responsible for the end-to-end sales process of third-party advertising on City assets which includes rink boards and digital screens in community centres, and will grow to include other assets. The position also supports the citywide sponsorship program, assisting with the development of sponsorship proposals, sponsor servicing, results reporting, and other administrative activities.
**MANAGES SPONSORSHIP AND ADVERTISING RELATIONSHIPS**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advertising clients and community partners.
- Support the negotiation of sponsorship and advertising agreements.
- Support the creation and development of sponsorship proposals.
- Manage the approval process for marketing materials with sponsors to maintain brand integrity.
- Provide regular updates and reports to partners
**MAXIMIZES REVENUE OPPORTUNITIES**
- Utilize a variety of proven sales techniques, including cold calling, networking, and referrals, to identify, engage, and acquire new advertising clients.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize an organized sales lead pipeline to achieve and exceed target revenue goals.
- Monitor and track industry trends, changes, and emerging opportunities in the advertising sector.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify potential future advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
**ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH CONTRACTS AND POLICIES**
- Coordinate the administration of the paid advertising program, including the management of contracts, invoicing, and compliance with the Advertising on City Property Policy.
- Ensure all processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with corporate standards.
- Adhere to all corporate and departmental policies and procedures, including Health and Safety Standards, to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Promote a culture of safety and integrity in all activities.
**OVERSEE CAMPAIGN EXECUTION AND PERFORMANCE**
- Generate detailed creative briefs for sponsored programs, ensuring sponsor deliverables are met by working closely with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate the collection of marketing metrics and the development of comprehensive results reports for each sponsor.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on performance data.
- Coordinate the logístical requirements for sponsorship activations, including obtaining necessary insurance and event liability forms.
- Provide on-site support to ensure flawless execution and sponsor satisfaction.
**SUPPORTS CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION**
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to coordinate and ensure the seamless execution and delivery of the paid advertising program.
- Facilitate clear communication and alignment across all parties involved.

**EDUCATION**:
- Post-secondary Degree or diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Development or related field.
**EXPERIENCE**:
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in the field of advertising or sponsorship sales.
**OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS**:
- Superior organization and analytical thinking skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior presentation/proposal building skills (PowerPoint).
- Proven strong relationship building skills.
- Negotiation experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, when/as required.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and other job-related software.
- Frequent travel required
- Valid, non-probationary G Class Driver’s License
