Overview:
The prime objective of the Process & Production Expert is to provide support and expertise to eastern Canada cement manufacturing sites in achieving performance improvement actions to become self-sufficient with the right people doing the right jobs with the right skills. This encompasses supporting operations in the completion of audits; identification, implementation and commissioning of improvement projects; and execution of major turnaround activities. This position will also facilitate the execution of process and/or production related strategic initiatives from Group level.

**Responsibilities**:
**Health and Safety**
- Responsible to drive H&S performance, including exemplary housekeeping, robust adherence to standards and ensuring a strong positive H&S culture.
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Actively manages risks by ensuring that all related control activities are thoroughly implemented, including safe work job planning.
- Drives committed and effective incident management through active participation in incident review, investigation, and corrective action creation.
- Promotes a culture of vigorous risk assessment, incident reporting and leading indicators, i.e., Near Misses, Visible Personal Commitment (VPC), Boots on the Ground.

**Environment**
- In consultation with the Environmental team, ensures that operations are provided with the technical support in order to comply with all relevant requirements (eg. Provincial regulatory, certificate, permit, etc).

**Process & Production**
- Drive performance in the field of Process and Production (Capacity Utilization, Productivity, Energy efficiency, Production Cost, AF substitution,) Decarbonisation, and Environmental Protection
- Review plant performance and support sites with their operations, performance improvement actions and commissioning of new equipment
- Provide performance benchmark at the Country level
- Share potential improvement areas and agree on target values with Global Cement Industrial Performance (CIP).
- Communicate reference values and targets to operational sites and collaborate in defining improvement actions with them
- Drive implementation and ensure proper usage of Cement Industrial Framework (CIF) tools, systems and methods for Process and Production operations; support roll out and training of the site workforce, and monitor progress.
- Support and enable local teams to initiate, execute and drive actionable performance improvements from scheduled kiln and mill audits within their plant.
- Helps to coordinate support and interventions and provides (and / or looks for) technical support for critical issues
- Watch for the respect of the Environment Group policies and legislation compliance, in order to ensure sustainability of our operations.
- Actively contributes to, and drives for, the competency development of Process, Production and Environment population at site level in cooperation with Regional CIP Learning & Development
- Create and encourages networks for the Process and Production teams (ie. Managers, Engineers, Coordinators, Supervisors, etc) in order to share challenges and solutions
- Contribute to the development of Process and Environment Expertise in eastern Canada Plants.
- Provide experience back to Global CIP to enrich know how and share best practices in the areas of process and/or production
- Demonstrate teamwork, ensuring openness and respect for others, and welcome feedback.
- Support the development, design and execution of capital development projects
- Act as a cement process & production expert in developing, leading and participating in targeted training programs within the region.

**Relationship with Others**
- Works closely with Cement and Slag site managers and their respective plant leadership teams
- Liaising with Global cement industrial performance (CIP) teams
- Plant employees including Plant Managers; Process, Production, Quality, Environment Managers; Engineers, Coordinators; Supervisors; Kiln Coach; and Control Room Operators
- Collaborate with members from other functions including Procurement, Project Management & Engineering, Learning & Development, Information technology Services, and Health & Safety
