**PURPOSE AND SCOPE**

The Production Manager is responsible for both the day to day production operations within all production departments, as well as weekly & monthly area performance including output, labour productivity and quality.

**ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP**

Production Manager reports directly to Chief Operating Officer.

**JOB DUTIES**

**a) Production**:
Oversee manufacture of products, ensuring compliance with safety, production outputs, productivity, and quality standards.

**This includes**:

- Successful Execution of weekly Production Schedule, overtime management and productivity.
- Developing and implementing integrated solutions to achieve rapid, sustainable, enterprise-wide cost saving, largely through operating efficiencies
- Developing and implementing plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets
- Training and overseeing training of employees in the use of new equipment, procedures; process and/or production techniques
- Reviewing and adjusting specific workforce activities, task schedules, and assignments to meet established production schedules and plans
- Working with the employees to overcome work challenges
- Ensuring a healthy and safe work environment and complying with federal and provincial regulations through collaboration with health and safety staff.
- Conducting regular 5S audits.

**b) Human Resources**:
Production Manager champions a positive labour relations culture, and is accountable for adherence to Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures by employees under his/her direction. He/she supports and provides information and leadership to Production

Supervisors.

**This includes**:

- Knowing, understanding, communicating and ensuring compliance with all HR policies & procedures
- Knowing, understanding, communicating and ensuring compliance with the

Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Identifying needs for employee training and coordinating delivery of training
- Expediting answers to any HR questions
- Ensuring that Human Resource Manager is included in HR matters when necessary.
- Participating in incident investigations and reviews when requested

**c) Administrative**:

- Assisting Chief Operating Officer with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technologies.
- Organizing departmental management structure and teams for operational efficiency.
- Working with Chief Operating Officer to develop operating budget.
- Providing input to Director - Manufacturing, Quality & Training regarding purchases, layout, use and maintenance of equipment & machinery.

**d) Required Skills & Attributes**
- Understanding metals fabrication and product assembly processes in diverse product manufacturing operations.
- Excellent process analysis and change management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Experience with MRP Software
- Expert level Microsoft Excel skills
- Effective use of time management and goal setting initiatives.

**e) Required Experience**
- 10+ years of direct manufacturing management experience
- Demonstrated process improvement experience
- Work experience in Heat Exchanger and systems manufacturing for Air conditioning will be heavily favored

**f) Education**
- **University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering required.**:

- PMP Certificate considered an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year

- Manufacturing Management: 10 years (preferred)
