Social Media Specialist

Heritage Park is seeking a Social Media Specialist to join the team.
Reporting to the Strategic Communications Manager, the Social Media Marketing Specialist is responsible for various duties within the Marketing Department, with a focus on supporting the Strategic Communications Manager. This position provides the incumbent with a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in marketing and communications in a non-profit organization. This is a full-time position.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Posts all Heritage Park content on all social media channels and its brands - Selkirk, etc.
- Writes content for newsletters, blogs, promotional posts for social networks, and copy for websites as necessary
- Creates, manages, and schedules editorial calendar for all departments that require social media posts
- Gathers image assets/ photography/ video for social media
- Monitors customer sentiment on all media channels for both Heritage Park and Selkirk brands listens to, responds, and engages with audiences across all channels
- Measures, reports (weekly), and makes recommendations on the performance of all social media initiatives to determine how we can best serve our clients and consumers and maximize the value of those social media channels
- Identifies trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
- Executes social media paid campaigns such as FB and Instagram boosts
- Performs various writing, editing, and proofreading tasks
- Conducts administrative duties, such as archiving and tagging digital photo and media assets
- Assists with or executes on-park and off-park events and promotions as needed
- Stays up-to-date with the latest trends on all social channels
- Other duties as assigned
**Education and Experience**:
- Minimum 3 years of post-secondary education in a Marketing, Communications, and/or Public Relations program;
- Prior exposure to marketing, communications, and/or administration is preferred;
- Experience with design software i.e. Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
- Experience with content management systems (Drupal, WordPress, Sitecore)
- Experience with MS Office and project management tools such as Asana
**Skills**:
- Positive, solution-focused team player with a sense of responsibility to complete what needs to be done;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Photography and videography skills;
- Video and audio editing skills an asset;
- Familiarity with website analytics an asset
**Special Clothing and Equipment**:
This individual may occasionally be required to wear a costume, which will be provided by the Heritage Park Costume Department.
**Special Working Conditions**:
The employee may be required to stand and/or walk for long periods.
**Hou**rs of Work**:
This position will work 35 hours per week, and a flexible schedule is required as this position may have to work early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.
