**Accounting Administrator**

VineHR is supporting the Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver (BBGV) with the hiring of an **Accounting** **Administrator.** It is a wonderful opportunity if you have 3+ years of relevant accounting experience and looking for an organization where you can make a difference

This is a full-time position at 35 hours per week. Comprehensive compensation package offered. This role is initially 5 days in the office but will eventually transition to a hybrid model.

**The Opportunity**
The Accounting Administrator performs the day-to-day accounting functions for three not-for-profit organizations ensuring accuracy and timeliness of Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing and filing systems. This role also assists with month end, financial and payroll analysis as well as year-end and yearly budget reporting requirements.

The following are key duties and responsibilities of the Accounting Administrator:
**Accounts Payables**:

- Ensures proper authorisation and allocation of expenses including a detailed review of A/P
- Daily entries and filing of packing slips and invoices payable
- Matches invoices to statements and resolves issues
- Weekly cheque runs, coordinating of authorised signatures and overall filing
- Month end reconciliation to General Ledger

**Accounts Receivable and Deposits**:

- Timely entries of Accounts Receivable invoicing
- Weekly deposits including data entry for Accounts Receivable, general donations,
- campaign funds and Gift-In-Kind
- Tracking and reconciliation of Sage batches to General Ledger
- Daily/weekly filing of invoices and deposit batches
- Analysis of Monthly deposits and credit cards, prepares clearing Credit Card entry,
- reconcile deposit clearing accounts
- Prepare GST/HST semi-annual rebate claim

**Payroll, Benefits, and Expense Reports**:

- Ensures Expense Report processes are complete including General Ledger and Payroll
- Maintains WCB, RSP, United Way, MSP and group benefits schedules and remittances
- Processes biweekly payroll including journal entries, analysis and reconciliations
- Reviews salary and payroll calculations that are prepared by HR
- Prepares and reconciles T4s, T2200s, etc.
- Completes payroll and benefits related portions of HR checklists

**General Ledger**:

- Daily/weekly entry for GL adjusting and standard journal entries
- Entry and filing of weekly reports
- Prepares bank and corporate Visa reconciliations for all organizations
- Analysis of Expense Accounts as required
- Assist with month end close and financial reporting analysis
- Assists with preparation of Standard Entries, Balance Sheet Reconciliations and updating ‘Master File’

**Cash Position**:

- Daily Maintenance of Cash Position Schedule
- Sets up of monthly Cash Position Schedule

**Annual Budget Preparation**:

- Assists with entry of current year “Actuals” as required
- Assists with forecasts for current year, next budget year as required
- Assists with updating Adagio with budget and/or forecasts as required

**Year End**:

- Assists with preparation of year end working paper files
- Assists with year-end or other audits as required
- Assists with entry of new current year budget information

**Miscellaneous Accounting Administration**
- Assists with the preparation of process documentation for Accounting and HR processes
- Maintains updated team calendar/maintenance of team calendar
- Maintained the maintenance of the server file structure (in addition to hard copy files)
- Other related duties as assigned

We are looking for an accounting administrator with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role with progressive experience relating to accounting, finance, organisation operations. Post-secondary education and familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel is required.

**Compensation**: A comprehensive compensation package is offered including base salary in the range of $60,000 - 64,000 per year depending on experience, benefits, vacation and other perks.
