**The Opportunity**

The Community Integration Coordinator works with Supervisor and other YIS program areas to understand emerging needs, trends and new initiatives related to settlement and integration and develops timely, relevant and innovative responses. The position provides direct supervision to the CPII (Crisis, Prevention, Intervention, and integration) Team and includes direct work with clients as well as various neighborhoods, YIS programs, other SPOs and community partners to ensure newcomers have settlement support and opportunities for positive interactions between new and established community members are created. This holistic approach reflects the importance of healthy, inclusive neighborhoods and the importance of engaging multiple stakeholders in settlement and integration as well as supporting this department in being proactive and responsive to an ever-evolving settlement and integration landscape.

**Responsibilities**
- Supervises and supports a team working in a high paced, and sometime ambiguous situations
- Provide referral and support to clients and team in accessing and navigating specific community-based resources and services
- Provide referral and support to community agencies engaging with newcomers to their communities
- Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance monitoring
- Creating new resources, tools and/or introducing new program elements and partnerships that improve effectiveness, efficiency and in responsiveness of the program area needs
- Ensure all client information is protected and confidentiality is maintained
- Access opportunities for interaction between new and established community members to come together, get to know each other better and create new shared experiences

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Experience and knowledge of the settlement sector and issues impacting newcomers (especially vulnerable populations) to Nova Scotia
- Robust understanding and connection to a variety of community services and resources and demonstrated networking, rapport building and strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and working committees with a variety of stakeholders
- Strong program and project planning, development, and coordination skills
- Experience in budget tracking and reporting
- Strong self-management, effective interpersonal and team leadership skills, exhibiting supportive, positive approaches
- Ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines and tasks
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and strong report and written presentation skills
- Schedule flexibility to accommodate variations outside of regular business hours, as needed
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 Office skills
