**_Role Impact:_**

The Supervisor, Fire & Life Safety is responsible for overseeing the functional, technical and applied Life Safety program at a high-profile, mixed-use urban property. This position is tasked with ensuring adherence to applicable Fire and Building Codes, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Supervisor, Fire & Life Safety will assist the Manager, Fire & Life Safety to maintain company standards and implement industry practices in the areas of emergency management, operational management, maintain fire alarm and fire prevention equipment, and personnel & staffing.

**_ What you will deliver:_**
- Planning and oversight of all property F&LS, and OHS training, in line with company and industry standards.
- Evaluate operation of Life Safety & Fire Alarm systems by inspecting, recording and scheduling maintenance repairs as required, to ensure company inspection and maintenance standard are upheld.
- Assist with annual service contracts administration.
- Review drawings, blueprints for code compliance and recommend modifications as required.
- Support Property Action Plans and Security Risk Assessment (SRA) to ensure identified issues are addressed and resolved in an expedient and prioritized manner.
- Enforce the Tenant Construction Manual and issue warnings and fines as required.
- Communicate and conduct required annual evacuation drills as per code and collaborate closely with tenants and partners on their emergency preparedness response plans.
- Collaborate closely with Project Management, Operations, and tenants prior to and throughout construction projects and ensure fire verification requirements are met.
- Develop, implement and supervise operational procedures, processes and standards to facilitate ongoing and effective F&LS Management practice.
- Ensure security personnel are trained in and aware of relevant emergency-related protocols.
- Conduct annual tenant fire warden training.
- Collaborate closely with emergency response authorities ensuring emergency response training is aligned with municipal requirements.
- Administer and maintain property emergency notification system
- Review and post the Fire Safety Plan, Standard Operating Procedures and Emergency Response Plan.
- Create and deliver ongoing reviews of critical Emergency Response Plans utilizing engaging tabletop drills/exercises.
- Support the property management team in the Emergency Operations Centre and oversee incident response activities at the location of the emergency to ensure efficiency and complete resolution.
- Respond to calls for emergency assistance; fire, first aid or other related health & safety incidents in a timely manner.
- Chair the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JH&SC) and assist in conducting accident investigations (where applicable).
- Ensure property personnel are qualified, experienced and trained to be classified as "competent workers" as defined by EH&S legislation.
- Maintain WHMIS training and compliance, annual First Aid, and C.P.R. training. Administer the training and maintenance of the Automatic External Defibrillator program.

**_ What you need to succeed:_**
- Completion of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years working in a fire and life safety capacity and 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
- Enrolled in or completed the Emergency Management Certificate Program
- Knowledge of WorkSafe/WCB requirements
- Knowledge of building operating systems and maintenance of fire and life safety systems and equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of all applicable fire and life safety related laws, bylaws, regulations and codes for the province as well as federal and municipal legislation.
- Digital literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar software
- Solid understanding of NFPA Standards, fire safety system and suppression equipment/methods.
- Knowledge of industry techniques and emergent trends in Fire & Life Safety.

Starting base salary for this job level may range from $55,934.00 - $74,579.50. The actual base salary offered will consider several factors including, but not limited to the role, experiences, skills & qualifications, location, market and internal considerations; with this context, CF reserves the right to pay above this range.
