Fire Protection Technician

Vancouver, Canada Voltech Fire Protection Full time

This is a full-time permanent position with an established local fire protection company. We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to fill the role of a Field Supervisor to follow the Owner’s/Director's direction and communicate the organization's overall strategy and goals while providing positive direction to his own subordinates. This position’s responsibilities encompass the Field Service Technicians who carry out the prescribed services as per ASTT guidelines and in line with the goals and values as set out by Voltech management without prejudice.

**Responsibilities**:
**Education**:
Completion of high school, vocational or technical training specifically BCIT training and achievement of ASTT certified designations ideally in Fire Alarm, Water, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting, Fire Pump, and BCWWA Backflow Testing certification.

**Experience**:
Minimum 8 years experience in Annual Testing of all major disciplines, Monthly Testing, general repair and maintenance of related systems. Aptitude for mechanical and electrical/electronic troubleshooting. Success in team leadership and training preferred.

**Languages**:
Speak English, Read English, Write English

**Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities**:
Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and climb stairs and ladders.

**Essential Skills**:
Reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory, finding information, continuous learning, and proficient in the use of computers/tablets. A positive, motivated attitude; a team player with the ability to work independently and a sense of accountability for your own work.

Pay: $45.00-$60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
