**About Us**:
Western’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry (SSMD) is a leading Canadian centre of outstanding education and research shaping health care for the next generation and is the largest and most complex faculty on campus.

The Basic Medical Science Graduate & Undergraduate office consists of centralized student services that oversee the administration of the BMSc program, Neurosciences program, IMS program and the Graduate and Postdoctoral Scholars programs. Each unit is led by an Associate Dean or Academic Director.

**Education**:

- Undergraduate Degree in a related field
- Science-related field of study preferred

**Experience**:

- 3 years experience liaising and building strong relationships with industry and/or community partners
- Proven sales, marketing, and/or public relations experience with selling a program, product or concept
- Experience in an academic setting is preferred
- Experience planning and implementing recruitment strategies and providing administrative support and coordination in a higher education institution preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Familiarity with best practices for seeking out, developing and maintaining business relationships and partnerships
- Knowledge of skills development practices related to job seeking
- Knowledge of relevant external partners with an ability to match their needs with the competencies of students from various programs
- Familiarity with Human Resources principles and practices
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own unit
- Compelling and persuasive communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to summarize information and disseminate to others effectively in a timely manner
- Ability to ensure confidentiality and privacy is maintained through the appropriate retention and destruction of information
- Ability to establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to understand customer needs and expectations and provide excellent customer service to directly and indirectly satisfy expectations
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations that are clearly linked to the organization's strategy and goals
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Ability to remain highly motivated, resilient, innovative, and collaborative when faced with challenges
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University’s events and activities
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn and use new software
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of initiative, innovation and good judgment in decision-making
