**About the Position**
The Accounts Payable Clerk position contributes to the financial operations of the organization. They play an important role in ensuring vendor payments and invoices are processed in an accurate and timely manner. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**This is an in-office position, with the option of working from home one day per week after successful completion of three months in the position.**
**Summary of Responsibilities**
- Receive and review vendor invoices and payments for complete accuracy and in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare and process payments, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all transactions and accounts payable files using MS Office suite and/ or in-house software.
- Liaise with various vendors and respond to any inquiries or payment-related disputes in a professional manner.
- Verify expense reports, receipts, and process reimbursements.
- Ensure accurate account coding.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, sending bill reminders, and paperwork filing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting policies and internal control procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
**Summary of Experience**
- 2+ year with accounts payable or accounting related experience.
**Requirements**:
- Post
- Secondary degree in business preferred or an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, processes, and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Good problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and organizational skills
