Dental Office Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:
**Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled dental aide to join our team. As a dental aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. You will help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our office by working closely with our dental providers.
Responsibilities will include preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, taking and developing dental x-rays (with Provincial Certification only), and helping with patient education and post-operative care instructions. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient records and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records in our electronic database.
To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team. You should also have a strong knowledge of dental procedures and sterilization procedures.

**Oher Responsibilities**
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing general chairside support.
- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies.
- Take and develop dental x-rays in accordance with established protocols (If a Provincial Certification is Obtained).
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, following infection control guidelines.
- Assist with patient management, including seating patients, obtaining and updating medical history, and answering any questions or concerns.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide post-operative care instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain and update patient records in our electronic database, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent or Foreign Dentists on Open Work Permit
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program with X-ray certification
- Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and instruments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- CPR certification
- Prior experience as a dental aide is preferred, but not required.
