**STONEWALL & AREA MOBILITY SERVICES (SAMS)**

**COORDINATOR**

**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to the SAMS Committee, the Coordinator will perform the duties and responsibilities necessary to supervise and organize handi-transit services for the area based on the needs of the entire region.

**1.0 DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES**:
**1.1 SUPERVISE AND ORGANIZE STAFF INCLUDING**:

- Participate in hiring new staff
- Coordinate the orientation and training of staff
- Assign duties to staff/drivers
- Provide periodic staff evaluations
- Ensuring staff effectiveness

**1.2 PROVIDE A DISPATCH FUNCTION FOR THE SERVICE INCLUDING**:

- Answering calls for the service in a courteous manner
- Scheduling trips based on request
- Assigning trips to drivers in the most efficient and effective manner in accordance with driver availability

**1.3 PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT BY**:

- Maintaining statistical records of the services provided
- Reviewing monthly financial reports
- Verifying & approving accounts for payment
- Assisting in budget development
- Providing monthly reports to the SAMS Committee
- Attending SAMS Committee Meetings

**1.4 OVERSEE VEHICLE FLEET MAINTENANCE INCLUDING**:

- Organizing and scheduling maintenance for vehicles
- Purchasing of supplies as required
- Performing duties of Driver when operating a vehicle for SAMS

**1.5 PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED**

**2.0 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**

**2.1 MINIMUM**:

- Interpersonal skills to deal with the public and staff (e.g. patience, tact and courtesy)
- Strong organizational skills (e.g. maintaining records and office procedures)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Self-motivation and personal initiative balanced by a willingness to follow the directions of the Committee
- Microsoft Office/Computer skills
- Class 5 Drivers’ Licence

**2.2 PREFERRED**:

- A background in logistics or dispatch
- Experience or knowledge in the operation of the transportation industry and/or fleet vehicles
- Class 4 Drivers’ Licence

**Salary**: From $24.83 per hour
