**Job Description**:
**THE POSITION**:
This position is responsible for all aspects of multi-state payroll processing, including but not limited to: compiling payroll information and completing payroll calculations. This position is also the main point of contact for employee payroll-related inquiries.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams. These results are achieved by:

- Complete bi-weekly Canada payroll - including, but not limited to: compiling payroll data such as hours worked, deductions, adjustments, and all other required records
- Perform established payroll audits to ensure accuracy of payroll; both from an input and compliance perspective
- Work directly with payroll provider (UKG) regarding payroll-related issue resolution
- Support the testing and maintenance of payroll configuration in the payroll system; help identify up
- and downstream system reliance and cross-functional system impacts
- Serve as primary point of contact for employees’ payroll-related inquiries; drive resolution in both a timely and customer service-focused manner
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with team members, business partners, and leaders to understand and ultimately resolve business challenges
- Proactively and consistently identify and drive opportunities for improvement
- Participate in timely and accurate processing of cyclical events, including: month/quarter/year-end -related activities
- Support processing of bi-weekly US payroll, as needed
- All other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
**MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- ** Education - **Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or job-related field
- ** Experience and/or Training**
- 3+ years Canada payroll experience; working knowledge of best practices and payroll operations
- Ability to execute tasks and meet critical deadlines in a thorough, poised, accurate, and timely manner, while managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced and often-changing environment
- Communicates in a highly effective, yet approachable manner; able to communicate with all levels of the business Timely and appropriate escalation of payroll issues to manager
- High level of attention to detail and meticulous follow-through, coupled with the flexibility to shift requirements and expectations, due to ever-changing needs of the business
- A collaborative approach to work; builds strong partnerships with business partners
- Self-motivated, self-starting, and creative thinker; shows resiliency in problem-solving
- ** Technology/Equipment**
- Proficiency with payroll software
- Advanced Excel skills

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- ** Experience and/or Training **- Experience with both US and Canada payroll processing
- ** Technology/Equipment**:

- Experience with Ultimate Kronos Group system(s); specifically UltiPro
