Our Canadian manufacturing client is looking for a Payroll Team Lead to join their growing business. This is an on-site position with headquarters in Burlington, ON. This individual will bring prior payroll experience and knowledge to the table and will oversee day-to-day payroll operations. Our client has a great track record of retaining its employees, so this should be someone who will be happy in the role long term.

Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly salary payroll and monthly Defined Benefit Pension Plan
  • Review weekly hourly and contract payroll processed by the Payroll Administrator
  • Ensure Federal and provincial payroll laws, regulations, and internal policies are being followed
  • Analyze payroll data and identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Work cross-functionally with HR to administer the Pension, RRSP, and group benefits program, including payments and monthly reconciliations
  • Prepare payroll-related filings and supporting documentation (year-end tax statements, pension, ROE’s, Workers' Compensation, etc)
  • Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to the GL
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll-related payments and reporting as required
  • Assist with any payroll, benefit, or pension-related audits
  • Manage relationships with external payroll vendors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of payroll data and processing
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees and respond to payroll inquiries and issues
Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • PCP designated or working towards, with 3+ years of payroll experience
  • Ability to implement and roll out any changes to efficiencies and process and explain why changes were made
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with unionized employees and asset
