**JOB SUMMARY**
The Computer Library, a division of (CAHRD) Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development Inc. is seeking a Computer
Instructor.

This program is designed to encourage the use of technology in communities that may not have access. It does so by teaching basic computer skills and making functional computer systems accessible to those who are unable to otherwise acquire them.

This increases their quality of life, literacy, fluency and the basic computer skills that have become a required for education and training and more employment opportunities, even in entry-level positions.

**PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Design and teach various computer courses for the Computer Lending Library program.
- Create course outlines and write instruction and review handouts for each of the different courses.
- Deliver training of computer use, including word processing, spreadsheets and the Internet.
- Prepare the room and the computers for use before each class; attend to the proper shut-down of computers after classes.
- Train and supervise volunteer staff when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Post secondary education in a related area combined with 1 - 2 years experience working with personal computers in

Windows environment, including word processing, spreadsheets and Internet; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CAHRD requires all of its employees be fully vaccinated against Covid-19; proof of vaccination is required before signing of employment contract.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Extensive knowledge and skills involving personal computers; including Windows operating systems, word processing programs, spreadsheets, internet and other programs.
- General knowledge about computer hardware including installation and operation of CD-ROM's modems, printers, scanners and other peripheral equipment.
- Basic knowledge of teaching principles.
- Common knowledge of training and supervision.
