London, Canada York Property Management Full time

The Maintenance Technician works in collaboration with the Resident Manager and reports to the Property Manager.

**Responsibilities**

1. Maintain housing units to ensure the units are safe and in adequate condition:

- Complete work orders assigned daily
- Apartment renovation and maintenance including carpentry, painting, drywall repair, minor electrical and plumbing
- Install and dispose of appliances including stoves, refrigerators and washing machines
- Complete or assist in daily, monthly Fire Inspection requirements
- Assist in cleaning/maintaining Grounds and common areas as required

2. Perform administrative duties
- Keep a daily log of tasks completed and track comments and progress in property management software
- Schedule, prepare and distribute 24-hour Notice to Enter units
- Coordinate with maintenance supervisor if an extra person is needed to complete the repairs
- Enter time tracking into property management software for payroll purposes
- Follow a preventative maintenance schedule
- Maintain equipment and tools

3. Carry and respond to emergency maintenance phone line on rotation

4. Perform other related duties as required

The incumbent must possess the following knowledge, skills and qualifications:

- Experience with repairs in plumbing, electrical, ventilation and water systems
- Proven building maintenance experience
- Workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Experience in residential property management is an asset
- Conscientious with great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to take initiative and work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to use and/or learn how to use new technology for time tracking and work order purposes
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Excellent customer service and public interaction skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Time management skills
- Decision making skills
