Position Purpose and Summary
To assist in building and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion at Trinity Western University, the Senior Associate will work under the supervision of the VP, Inclusive Excellence and in collaboration with the Inclusive Excellence Team.
This position provides support on issues related to diversity and underrepresented student, faculty, and staff populations by assisting in the development, organization, and implementation of diversity initiatives and practices that support the University’s commitment to foster a culture that (1) honours the cultural and ethnic diversity of the body of Christ in its faculty, staff, administration and students, and (2) faithfully lives out the call to reconciliation by reducing barriers to equity, diversity and inclusivity on campus.
Key Areas of Accountability
- Meet routinely and work closely with the VP Inclusive Excellence on issues related to diversity and underrepresented student, faculty, and staff populations.
- Engage with employee and student groups to communicate, create, coordinate, and implement initiatives.
- Remain current and highly informed on areas pertaining to EDI best practices, utilizing academic and market research, trends, and training programs.
- Coordinate and participate in systems review and analysis of university processes, including but not limited to recruitment.
- Guide team in designing and/or acquiring educational and professional development programs and curricula for faculty, staff, and students leaders on issues of equity, inclusion, and diversity.
- Develop, coordinate, and facilitate relevant learning activities, events, programs, discussions, and workshops for students, faculty, and staff.
- Assist in establishing and coordinating Inclusive Excellence Campus Teams and Council among university constituents.
- Conduct research projects using creative, project management, data collection, and analysis skills.
- Build systems to track, measure, maintain and report diversity initiatives and the outcomes.
- Network and collaborate with internal offices and departments to establish and support their diversity projects.
- Support Inclusive Excellence and Cultural Renewal Initiative action plan development and implementation.

**Skills and Abilities**
- A mature understanding of the Christian faith and an ability to identify, and leverage, the resources of Christian learning in the service of a compelling and theologically rich account of reconciliation.
- Advanced communication and relationship management skills with ability to build productive, collaborative relationships.
- Advanced knowledge of the concepts, theories, practices and techniques related to respectful learning and working environments with advanced expertise in discrimination, diversity and inclusion.

Standards & Requirements
**Education**: Masters in related field (lesser educational qualifications if pertinent, will be considered)
**Experience**: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience at progressive levels of responsibility in a related field, with emphasis on development and delivery of respectful environment programs and services; experience in conflict resolution be would an asset.
An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
