Under the general direction of the Superintendent of Wastewater Collection, the Local Sewer Maintenance Coordinator provides maintenance coordination for the efficient operation, maintenance and administration of the Wastewater Services Local Wastewater Collection System and Local Land Drainage System. The responsibilities include: planning, scheduling, reporting, staff support and development, budgeting and emergency response coordination for the Local Collection and Flood Control Section.

**As the **_Maintenance Coordinator_**_ _**you will**:

- Provide operational work management control for the maintenance of the wastewater collection system, flood control infrastructure, and storm water retention infrastructure.
- Provide operational work management input on the upgrading of the wastewater collection system, flood control infrastructure, storm water retention infrastructure and the City of Winnipeg Flood Manual.
- Develop, monitor and coordinate all maintenance activities using the City of Winnipeg Work and Asset Management System (OWAM).
- Provide direction to special project work crews on maintenance work activities.
- Perform other duties as required/assigned.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Minimum two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in water or wastewater works operations, engineering, science, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and extensive experience. [Note: Post-secondary education must meet the required Continuing Education Unit (CEU) equivalency under the Water and Wastewater Facility Operators Regulation 77/2003.]
- Must have and maintain Operator Certification at Class III for Wastewater Collection Facilities in accordance with Manitoba Regulation 77/2003 and obtain and maintain Level IV Certification within two years.
- Must have 5 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of the sewage collection and land drainage system including the flood protection system.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory / leadership experience.
- Successful completion of levels 1, 2, 3 of the City of Winnipeg’s Foremanship course or equivalent would be preferred.
- Successful completion of Levels 1 and 2 of the Sacramento, California State University Wastewater Collection Systems course.
- Must have and maintain a valid First Aider Level 1 Certification.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including public speaking abilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Departments electronic flood manual.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize complex tasks within tight timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and the safety precautions and regulations that are applicable to the area of work.
- Ability and availability to accept and handle emergency call-out situations after hours.

- Must have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
