About the Role

This position provides leadership, guidance, and direction to the Member Experience and Pension Operations (MExPO) Division with an understanding of and commitment to the organization’s mission and values. In collaboration with the Executive Team Leader, the VP, Member Experience & Pension Operations, sets and oversees the strategic direction of the division and develops department business plans and initiatives with the division’s leadership team to support successful overall operations and business excellence. The incumbent must also demonstrate leadership beyond MExPO and supports the Executive Team in enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Do- Provides leadership, guidance, direction to the Member Experience and Pension Operations Division- Responsible for ensuring Divisional compliance with the Plan and applicable provincial and Federal legislation.- Works with ET leader in setting and monitoring the Divisional budget and resource management.- Leads and provides support to a multi-functional management team providing specialized services to members, pensioners, and employers.- Manages and influences business relationships with external stakeholders (Employers, Union Representatives, vendors, etc.)- Partners with employers and other external stakeholders on escalated business issues.- Applies comprehensive knowledge of, and technical expertise in, pension plan administration, pension policy and regulatory compliance.- Leads in the development of Divisional strategy.- Sponsors and leads new business initiatives and projects.- Guides and motivates teams under their purview and works to develop managers- Develops communication strategy for plan members and division.- Accountable for Divisional results, identifying and addressing team resource needs to achieve departmental objectives.- Manages the resolution of special or complex administration matters, including escalated stakeholder issues.-
- Sponsors and leads change management initiatives that support divisional objectives, communicating strategies, and working with stakeholders and other business partners- Functioning by a default as a culture champion, exhibiting leadership in Divisional and corporate engagement, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity matters.

What You Bring- Undergraduate degree in a related field with 8+ years in pension administration, with minimum 5 years of senior managerial experience- Postgraduate degree in a related field is an asset- Very strong understanding of and experience implementing operational efficiency and effectiveness practices- Excellent knowledge of pension plan administration, related legislation (e.g. good understanding of the Pension Benefits Act, the Family Law Act and federal statutes such as the Income Tax Act),- Demonstrated ability to set strategy and executable business plans- Extensive experience in planning, budgeting, policy development, setting priorities and business activity coordination- Highly collaborative with demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external business partners effectively- Experienc
