Our Solo with Supports (SWS) Program is looking for:
**Casual Youth Workers & Residential Relief Staff**

**Details**:SWS is a community-based program that assesses and teaches living skills and self-advocacy to teens who require extra supports as they move towards adulthood and supported independent living. Often youth in this program will transfer to the adult support system(s) such as Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH), Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD), and/or Adult Mental Health (AHS Programs and Services).

**Role**:The Youth Worker will provide 1:1 support to participants who require support in their day-to-day life, to maintain a safe and positive environment. Duties include but are not limited to:

- Maintaining daily routines, in-home support services, transportation to and from day-programming/community appointments, facilitating recreational opportunities, client/family advocacy.
- Support youth in the development of healthy relationships, emotional regulation, positive lifestyles, personal safety, time management, recreation, self-advocacy, education and vocational exploration.
- Administrative paperwork, contact notes, attending service team meetings, maintaining effective communication within the service team, collaborative and creative problem-solving.

**Hours of Work**: 0-44 hours per week with no guaranteed hours. Staff can pick up shifts that are available. _**Early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight sleep shifts every day of the week are available based on the needs of the youth and/or the group care homes.**_ This is an hourly position and does not qualify for paid holidays and vacation. 6% holiday pay included in hourly wage.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with individuals experiencing mental health issues (paranoia, delusions, psychosis, self-harm, suicidal ideation, etc.)
- Relevant diploma or degree from an accredited college/university
- Minimum one year of experience in Human Services or Child and Youth Care
- Updated (within 6 months) Police Record Check (including vulnerable sector) and Child Intervention Record Check
- Class 5 Driver's License, at least 3 year’s driving experience, clean driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle with $2 million liability insurance.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status (minimum of 2 doses).

**Salary**:$22.05 per hour for all awake shifts. Sleep hours are paid at $15.90 per hour.
